The North American Cable Assembly
Report:
By the Numbers
By Dave Pheteplace, Bishop & Associates Inc.
Bishop &
Associates and the WHMA, in a joint research effort, have
developed a report that details North American Cable Assembly
Manufacturing. The purpose of the report is to identify
companies and company divisions in the United States and Canada
whose primary business is cable assembly manufacturing. The
report includes a profile on each of the companies identified
and an analysis of the data collected during the process. The
following are some highlights presented at the WHMA conference.
We identify 736 businesses in the report, with a combined
worldwide revenue estimate of $35.7 billion. One percent of the
companies represented 76% of the total revenues.
Distribution of
Revenues
California
had the largest number of companies, 124, or 16.9% of the
companies identified. Sixty-one percent of the companies are
outside the top five states/provinces for cable assembly
manufacturers.
